I knew I would get the best journalism education in the world coming to Mizzou, what I didn't anticipate was how my experiences would change what I want to do in life.

For years I've longed to be a broadcast news reporter, and now I'm not so sure. The School of Journalism is great, and I'm thankful for the mentors and professors who have taught me so much about the craft.

Part of the reason I got into this gig was to help people by telling stories that aren't usually told but that need to be heard. Now I wonder if my true career shouldn't be reporting, but producing, working for an NGO or maybe in an innovative audio-visual field that hasn't even been invented yet.

My plans aren't set in stone and probably never will be, but no matter what I'll continue to cherish happy memories of my time at MU with the friends who made it worthwhile.

About This Blog.

I'm a Pittsburgh native pursuing a dual-major in convergence journalism and international studies, and these are the faces I've come to love so far from home. Call it a "humans of mid-Missouri" if you wish. Sometimes I'll post poetry. Sometimes I'll post photos of faces that were never newsworthy, but that doesn't mean there isn't a story behind them. These are the faces of friends, family, and passing strangers in mid-Missouri. They pour a little extra honey into my day, they mentor me, and even as they quickly come and go from my life, they provoke my curiosity.
